Bobby

This past week was Bobbys birthday.  I took the kids to walmart and let them each pick out whatever they wanted to get for their father.  Needless to say, there was quite a variety of gifts given to him for his birthday!  From Rachel who always thinks with her heart (she got him a very masculine bracelet and necklace set) To Bobby and Anthony who gave him a variety of feminine products and some really cute Flash Gordon bikini briefs to go along with it. To the surprising conspiring of Brandon, Justin and Michael to put their money together to get him a very blingish (I think I just made that word up) dog tag necklace.  the kids helped me wrap all of the gifts, even making their own cards.  We decided to fill his patrol car up with balloons and put his second gift of the day in his seat (the first gift was left for him by the shower).  Throughout the day we would surprise him with another gift, trying to make this special day last.  After work we all sat down to dinner together and let him open the rest of his presents.  I loved how each of the kids really took seriously the picking out of their gift.  It showed me so clearly how they all feel about their father.  And It was priceless to spend the evening togeather celebrating the life of this wonderful, loving, caring man.  Bobby, I am so proud of you, I love you :)

I love this one too, on the day of our wedding, he looks so handsom

I like this picture, because to me it looks like he is taking it all in (our wedding day) but he really is probably just standing there thinking, how many more pictures is Terri going to take!

Tristan

Happy Birthday Tristan!!!
My Tristan turned fifteen years old today.  I know everyone says this, but it does blow my mind.  It does not seem like fiften years have passed since I gave birth to this wonderful, complicated child!  From the beginning he was adored by everyone.  He was the "mascot" of the family. My brother Michael even used him as his "prop" for his senior pictures. and  I remember so clearly how easily my dad melted when he held Tristan, taking him to the park when he was just days old, singing Jimmy Buffet to him and telling him stories.  Tristan was such an easy baby, only cried when there was something wrong, and would put himself to sleep every night, a first time mothers dream.  I thank God that I took many home videos of this wonderful bundle of joy, who provided so much laughter to everyone.  From his low voice from the time he could talk to his clumsyness and sweet way he handled his little brother.  We are now in the teenage years, trudging through the sludge of changes and dealing with them the best we can.  Although at times, durng these teenage years, I think an alien has entered my sweet boy and caused him to do things i dont understand, everyday, in some way he shows me a glimpse of that sweet, loving, funny child that will always be my baby.  Happy Birthday Tristan, I love you.

The (short but sweet) Honeymoon

After the ceremony, we took a short trip to Gatlinburg for a couple of days away.  We slept in, played mini golf, rode the sky lift, and just enjoyed a couple of days alone.

I was beating him so bad, but then he got a hole in one :(

Beginning of a new (unique) family

Our family adventures began (officially) on May 7th 2011, with Bobby and I's wedding.  I decided to attempt a blog about the adventures, trials, and accomplishments this large blended family is bound to have! The wedding day was just a taste of what we have in store.  Our plans of a nice relaxed day leading up to the event were thwarted at every turn.  Despite my hopes that everything else would be put on hold for this one day only, we began the day by dropping Brandon off at Lifeguard training, Justin at the school for a field trip he forgot about, and two more at Saturday school!  As the bride, getting ready for your wedding is stressful enough, when you add the groom and eight kids, its, well I dont believe there is a word for it!  However, once the wedding was about to start and I saw my handsom groom, and all of our beautiful kids standing at the front of what turned out to be one of the most gorgeous outdoor weddings I have ever seen, all of the stress melted away and I walked down the isle to my future.
